VHA Awards Dialysis Electronic Medical Record Software and Maintenance Electronic Health Record Contract to DSS, Inc.
Second five-year, $27 Million IDIQ contract for DSS-CyberREN will provide best possible renal care for Veterans
JUNO BEACH, Fla. (SEPTEMBER 20, 2022) — Document Storage Systems, Inc. (DSS, Inc.), a leading provider of health information technology (HIT) solutions for federal, private and public health care organizations, today announced a contract award from the Veterans Health Administration (VHA) for the Dialysis Electronic Medical Record Software and Maintenance Electronic Health Record (EHR).
“This renewed contract will help the VHA to more easily capture and report dialysis data. This milestone supports the efforts of VHA to becoming a High Reliability Organization and paves the way for the best renal care for Veterans,” said Mark Byers, president and CEO of DSS, Inc.
To improve Veterans outcomes of renal care and dialysis treatment, it’s critical to prepare reports, trend data efficiently and integrate dialysis treatment information with Veterans Health Information System Technology Architecture (VistA) for a complete patient view. DSS-CyberREN is made up of Chronic Kidney Disease, Hemodialysis, Transplant and Peritoneal Dialysis modules. These modules combine to integrate real-time data with workflow automation, helping VHA caregivers more efficiently manage renal care and dialysis patient treatment.
DSS-CyberREN is a hemodialysis machine vendor neutral solution that can improve dialysis outcomes. The solution delivers benefits for both caregivers and Veterans:
Faster, more accurate dialysis documentation
Improve Veteran outcomes of care with timely alerts and real-time notifications
Decreased risk of costly errors due to paper charting
Instant reports available
Seamless integration with Computerized Patient Record System or CPRS that allows for greater collaboration among nephrologists, primary care providers, and other specialists
Adoption of this superior dialysis EHR software solution has grown from 13 VA facilities in 2019 to 49 in 2022. This new contract is expected to be utilized by the remaining 31 VA dialysis outpatient facilities with potential to impact the dialysis inpatient facilities as well.
